Hello Guardians!

I know it’s Sunday, but I just couldn’t find the time to write this last night. Busy busy and all that.

We dropped Sha of Fear on Thursday night, so I wanted to give everyone some notes on Terrace of Endless Spring. The encounters are an interesting mix of “lol”, tableflip, fun, and boring. One for each boss no less.

Protectors of the Endless

The Rundown:

  • Trash: The trash is pretty lol-worthy. Pull one at a time. Kill. Repeat. Don’t be standing near the middle when you’re done.
  • Talents: FS, Incarnation, NV.
  • Glyphs: Stampeding Roar.
  • Gear: Consistent RPS (Hit/Exp > Crit > Haste).

Encounter Notes:

  • There’s really no reason to not do “elite” mode on normal. It’s basically a complete joke.
  • I only ever tanked Protector Kaolan. During P1 he’s harmless, you can pretty much just afk. During P2 he’ll start dropping voidzones, get out of them ASAP and start using SD. In theory you’re supposed to swap during P2 but I was able to easily tank him the entire phase. P3 have the other tank pick him up. Swap back when your stacks drop off.
  • Save Stampeding Roar for when moving out of a Expel Corruption.
  • You can’t tank Elder Asani in the normal sense of the word. Just make sure you interrupt him to move him out of the puddle in P2.
  • Can’t tell you anything about Elder Regail. But I know you have to move him out of puddles.
  • If you’re tanking Kaolan your DPS is irrelevant until P3, so just stay alive.

Tsulong

The Rundown:

  • Trash: None. Just make sure you run out of the middle really quick after Protectors die since that is where Tsulong spawns.
  • Talents: FS, NS, Incarnation, HotW.
  • Glyphs: All are kinda “meh”.
  • Gear: Consistent RPS (Hit/Exp > Crit > Haste).

Encounter Notes:

  • This is the one normal mode fight this entire tier where if you don’t take HotW and NS you are doing it wrong.
  • Drop your stacks twice per swap. Once right after a breath and again right before you taunt.
  • Point him the fuck away from the raid and the Sunbeam.
  • Use HotW during the Day phase (doesn’t matter which one). Swap to a caster weapon and pop an Agility pot then use HotW – preferably leaving yourself 3 seconds before a breath. Once the breath lands your precasted HT should immediately hit as well. Follow this up with an NS+HT and a Rejuv. Then HT spam while keeping Rejuv up (Stolen from Tinderhoof).
  • Once HotW ends don’t forget to swap back to an Agility weapon.
  • Tank the Embodied Terror reasonably far away from Tsulong (~15-20 yards). Try and kill it a few seconds before he breathes.
  • When the Fright Spawns appear immediately grab them and point them away from your healers so they don’t get fucked.

Lei Shi

The Rundown:

  • Trash: Fuck I hate this trash. You have to interrupt 1-2 at a time and kill them. But there’s tons of them, so it’s possible for you to get completely globaled. Don’t be surprised if you die, just kill them eventually.
  • Talents: FS, Typhoon, Incarnation, Bash, NV.
  • Glyphs: Stampeding Roar.
  • Gear: Consistent RPS (Hit/Exp > Crit > Haste).

Encounter Notes:

  • Swap around 10-12 stacks.
  • SD is a waste of time when tanking the boss. On the other hand if you’re tanking a Protector you want SD instead of FR.
  • This isn’t LFR. Don’t try tanking a Protector AND the boss.
  • You can’t generate Rage when the boss is bubbled – so if it all possible make your co-tank do it.
  • When Protectors spawn, pick one and Bash it and start tanking it. If you have to pick up Lei Shi, typhoon it away and hope your DPS are paying attention. Make everyone else deal with CC on the others – you don’t have time to babysit the raid.
  • You can’t do anything except sit on your ass during Hide.
  • Definitely save Incarnation and NV for sub 20%.

Sha of Fear

The Rundown:

  • Trash: None.
  • Talents: FS, Incarnation, NV
  • Glyphs: Doesn’t really matter.
  • Gear: Consistent RPS (Hit/Exp > Crit > Haste).

Encounter Notes:

  • This fight is really fucking boring.
  • Make sure you’re always standing in the yellow circle when not killing a panda.
  • Use SD (obviously). Try and make sure it’s up for Thrash.
  • If your healer is slacking or your DPS is stupid it’s really easy for them to get behind on keeping you up. Use CDs as appropriate.
  • Your main job on Pandas is to pick up orbs. Everything else is secondary.
  • Feel free to smack the panda around a few times when you’re running by.
  • Use FR to keep yourself alive during Panda phase.
  • Death Blossom is harmless. Just use an SD for it and watch it tickle. Keep grabbing orbs.

See what I mean?

Pretty good rundown. Only thing I’d add, is on Sha when you get sent to the panda add, DO make sure to hit the panda a few times off the bat. Made the mistake of orb hunting exclusively one time and our Frost DK found out he was kind of squishy when taking the guys “auto” cast shots to the face haha

Also, agreed on Lei Shi’s trash needing to just go die. It’s even more annoying than her (his?) Hide ability. Having you or your co-tank sometimes get gibbed as soon as the pack is pulled is not fun.

elite normal is one tankable, think i went to about 18 stacks of debuff, u spike pretty low but never in danger of dying.

    • Arielle says:

I wouldn’t want to 1 tank it during a protect. That sounds like asking to get killed. It’s just safer to 2-tank it.

  • Tinderhoof says:

Note: I can’t take credit for coming up with the Tsulong healing strat. Dought of Midwinter (Sargeras) was kind enough to post it on Fluiddruid.net http://fluiddruid.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=10906#p10906

Pretty sure you can just dispel the cleansing waters instead of moving the boss.

  • Lealanya says:

During hide phases you can go cat and use Swipe and Thrash. Ive seen the bleed animation appear on the boss and WoL confirms they were hitting.

    • Arielle says:

Right! But you also lose all Rage and Vengeance when doing so. Up to you to decide if the tradeoff is worth it.
